Perched on the lush island of Nosy Komba, Makis' Vallée is a tranquil hideaway just 20 minutes by boat from Nosy Be, or 30 minutes from Ankify on the mainland. Nestled into the forested hillside, our guesthouse offers breathtaking panoramic views over Ampangorina village and the sparkling ocean beyond.
Only a three-minute stroll from the sea, Makis' Vallée is the perfect retreat for those seeking peace, nature, and ocean serenity — while still being close to island life.
Our intimate, six-unit self-catering guesthouse caters to a variety of travellers. Four stylish studio apartments comfortably accommodate two guests, while two spacious family units sleep up to four. We also offer a six-bed mixed dormitory — creating a friendly, social space while maintaining balance across the guesthouse.
All guests are invited to unwind at our stunning rooftop pool, complete with sun loungers and unforgettable views — an idyllic spot to soak up the island atmosphere.
A dream brought to life
Makis' Vallée began as a dream in 2020 and, after years of care and dedication, opened its doors in 2025. Brought to life by Cyril, a Nosy Komba native, and his partner Lauren, a South African expat, the lodge reflects a meeting of cultures and a shared love for the island. Together, they have created a space that feels both unique to Nosy Komba and genuinely welcoming to all who arrive.

Hiking to Akiba
A short climb from Ampangorina leads to the eco-village of Akiba, where sustainable farming is practiced and chocolate is handmade from bean to bar. The village produces essential oils and supports local schools. Hike all the way to the 622m summit for breathtaking views.
A local guide is recommended — paths are not always clearly marked.
Nosy Komba Island Cruise
Opt for a relaxing boat ride around the island, with the option of stopping at one of the local gargottes for lunch. Snorkel in the clear waters, browse beachfront markets, and take in the beautiful scenery.
Musée Lovako
Visit the local museum in Ampangorina Village to gain insight into the history and cultural heritage of Nosy Komba. Entry includes a knowledgeable guide. Can be paired with a trip to the Black Lemur Sanctuary.
Black Lemur Sanctuary
Nosy Komba is famous for its free-roaming lemurs. The sanctuary is home to pythons, tortoises, chameleons, and a variety of bird species. With a little encouragement, lemurs may hop onto your shoulder.
Lemurs are fady (sacred) — any mistreatment is strictly prohibited.
Local Artisan Markets
Browse local artisan stalls and small markets during your stay. Many items are handmade on the island or brought from the mainland. Shopping locally is a wonderful way to support the community.
